Since our beginning just a few years ago, the magic of kindness has traveled coast to coast—and far beyond. Our generous community of vintage Redline Hot Wheels collectors spans the globe, each one bringing insight, hope, and heart to the needs in their own communities. Whether responding to natural disasters, personal hardships, or simply answering the call of basic human kindness, they’ve shown up—and so have we.
Here are just a few examples of how far a Random Act of Kindness (RAOK) can go. From bikes to books, helmets to hugs, the ripple effect is real.
We believe kindness has no borders, no bias, and no room for hate. Every joyful act—no matter how small—is a stand against division and a step toward a world where compassion leads, not fear.

Our First RAOK
This is where our story begins—our very first Random Act of Kindness. Chuck and I walked into our local Walmart with one simple goal: to figure out how we could get bikes into the hands of kids who needed them. What happened next was pure magic. The Walmart team jumped into action without hesitation. Within an hour, 38 bikes, helmets, and locks were lined up in front of the store, ready to roll.
While the bikes waited, we wandered through the aisles looking for kids who might need one. If they did, we handed them an Easter egg and asked them to meet us out front. What unfolded was unforgettable. Some kids asked us to give the bike to someone else. Others had friends in mind who needed it more. The selflessness was overwhelming. Every single bike was given away in just a few hours—but what stayed with us was the quiet power of compassion. Our faith in humanity was renewed by the kids who turned down a gift so someone else could receive it.

Partnering with Butte County Toy Run
Redline Community Cares is proud to stand alongside the Butte County Toy Run—a tradition rooted in generosity and community spirit. Founded 38 years ago by Chuck’s uncle in-law Terry TJ Jones, his grandmother June Norton, and Pastor Dave Sweet, the Toy Run has long been a beacon of support for foster children in Butte County, California. Through annual motorcycle rides each December—and now, a festive “Christmas in July”—this grassroots effort brings together social workers, riders, and neighbors to uplift those who need it most.
Twice a year, Redline Community Cares rolls in with 30 to 50 bikes, helmets, and locks, plus backpacks overflowing with school supplies. It’s more than a delivery—it’s a celebration of hope, resilience, and shared purpose. We treasure this partnership and the thousands of foster children and families it continues to serve. Together, we ride for kindness, and we show up with heart.

At Redline Community Cares, we believe teachers are everyday heroes—mentors, protectors, and champions of possibility. That’s why we fulfill classroom wish lists filled with supplies, tools, and resources that help educators do what they do best: inspire. These gifts don’t just support one class for one year—they ripple outward, touching hundreds of students over time. Each marker, book, or bundle of paper becomes part of a bigger story: one where future leaders are nurtured, and kindness is taught by example.
We’ve seen firsthand how a well-stocked classroom can transform learning into magic. By backing our teachers, we’re investing in the heart of every community—and in the children who will carry that heart forward.

Extending Kindness Coast to Coast!
Redline Community Cares doesn’t just roll local—we roll nationwide. In this photo, our longtime supporter Chris is delivering 100 fully stocked backpacks to high school students in Maryland. That’s 100 chances to start the school year with confidence, tools, and a reminder that kindness travels. Coast to coast, we show up. Because compassion isn’t regional—it’s relentless.

About Us
Redline Community Cares was born from a single act of generosity and a shared love for vintage, Redline Hot Wheels. When Chuck Shelton, of The Toy Car Headquarters, Inc., auctioned one, single, Redline car to buy a bike for a child on Easter, the response from the collecting community was overwhelming--raising nearly $8,000 in one night. That spontaneous moment sparked a movement rooted in kindness, community, and the joy of giving.
Together with his wife Kristen, and their family of Redline Hot Wheels collectors that momentum turned into a mission: to bring freedom and happiness to foster children through bikes, helmets, and locks—symbols of independence and adventure
Both Chuck and Kristen spent time in foster homes growing up. They both carry memories—some good, many challenging—but the moments of freedom, the escape from the chaos they found were often on their bikes.
As Chuck and Kristen reflected on their journey, there was one truth stood out for each of them: teachers were their lifesavers. Each having educators who showed up when they felt most alone. The kindness, the compassion, the inspiration- left marks that words can’t fully express. Redline Community Cares allows Chuck and Kristen honor those heroes. Paying it forward with gratitude, heart, and hope.
